## Description

African Black Soap — Built From Ash, Not Chemistry

A traditional West African cleansing bar, made the way it has been for centuries: the ash of harvested plantain skin, cocoa pods, and palm leaves, cooked together with palm kernel oil and shea butter. The ash gives it natural alkalinity and a mild, scrubby texture; the shea butter gives the moisture back.

**A category of its own.** This isn’t conventional soap dyed darker — it’s a different process entirely, sourced from producers in Ghana. Many customers reach for it when ordinary soap leaves their skin feeling stripped.

Free from artificial colors, fragrances, and preservatives. Works on face, body, and as a clarifying hair wash. Because it runs more alkaline than conventional soap, drier skin types may want to moisturize after use.

We don’t claim this soap treats, cures, or heals any skin condition — those are clinical claims. We claim what it is: a minimal-ingredient, plant-ash-and-butter bar with centuries of traditional use.

## Benefits

Why People Keep It
- **Minimal-ingredient formula** — plant ash and shea butter, nothing synthetic.
- **Natural alkalinity, mild abrasive texture** — a deeper-feeling clean than ordinary soap.
- **Often chosen for oily and acne-prone skin** — where conventional soap can feel stripping. Customer-reported, not a clinical claim.
- **One bar, three jobs** — face, body, and a clarifying hair wash.
- **Free from artificial colors, fragrances, and preservatives.**

## How to Use

Daily Ritual

1

Wet & Lather

Wet the bar and work up a lather between your hands or on a washcloth. The texture is rougher than conventional soap — a little goes a long way.

2

Cleanse & Rinse

Massage over skin in circular motions. On the face, leave the lather on 30–60 seconds before rinsing for a deeper clean; on hair, massage through the scalp. Rinse thoroughly with warm water.

3

Moisturize After

It cleans deeply and can feel drying. Follow with a moisturizer if your skin needs it.

4

Store Dry

Keep it in a dry, sealed container between uses — it dissolves faster than a cold-process bar.
